This skull comes ready go! The ST-425 board is mounted inside the skull with the servo and all the wires attached. You just have to provide power and the sound!

The circuit inside the skull allows you to easily hook up audio to the circuit board to drive a servo for animating the jaw of your prop. Easily create a prop with that highly sought after animatronics effect!

Operates off of a 9VDC supply.  The unit has an 3.5mm (1/8" stereo) style audio input that can be driven by just about any CD player, Tape Deck, MP3 player, etc.

Switches on the Scary Terry Audio Servo Driver board allow you to choose the Left, Right, or both audio channels to drive the servo in the skull. You can also make the same choices for the audio out jack.

A free audio editor, called Audacity, can be downloaded from www.audacity.sourceforge.net

Also available as a kit (you mount servo, drill all the holes, and attach the jaw etc.).

Please note:  This is typically a build to order item, so please allow up to two weeks for it to ship, though it usually ships within 3-5 days from the date the order is placed.

Manual for the ST-425 board that is used with the skull.

I think the scull is of good quality except when I hook up the audio to a voice recording .no matter how much I adjust it it don't keep timing with the recording I tried every thing to adjust it followed the instruchions and still it skips words and moves when nothing is being said I turned up the volume all the way amused the certitude board and I just can get it right .but if I touch the end of the jack with my finger it works just fine so I'm thinking this scull needs to go back to school a d learn some timing controls please let me know what school he went to so I can send him back to class thank you ...lol. but over all for $130 .Comair to others that are $1.700 it's a grate deal I'll get it to work some how for sure thank you

a little noisy in the servo

Posted by Dan Hanlon on 28th Sep 2021

Since I'm new to this Im sure that noise is normal. I haven't really got it going yet, but I am impressed with the quality of the skull and the ease to which it works.

You can't beat it for the price!!!

I have owned a Scary Terry skull for over 5 years. I recently purchased a new one and found some terrific enhancements. First, there is now an armature to hold the circut board. Secondly, and most importantly, you no longer need to purchase a CD player with a separate audio out as the board now has an audio out on it. Terrific enhancements. Finally, the servo is quieter. The skull is of high quality. Yes, there are other talking skulls available but do you really want to spend over $500.00? Then of course there are the Skulltronic's option. Serious money there.Kids are enthralled by it. Adults too. I cannot recommend the Scary Terry Talking Skull enough.

    Bang for the Buck

    Posted by Greg @ www.necrosisvalley.com on 29th Sep 2015

These animated skulls can cost hundreds. Cowlicious will ship you a ready-to-go for a buck 49? Yep - and i works - works GREAT right out of the box. Only small issue is the skull pins which cloe the top are a little loose, but they adjust - just be careful to not lose them. Great service too - they emailed a new manual to me when the wrong one was inadvertently shipped. Haven't put it through a full weekend of haunt yet, but so far am VERY pleased. Definitely recommend this!

    assembled talking skull

Posted by somethin' different on 26th Apr 2014

Just received the assembled talking skull. Haven't really put it through a major run yet. But what little time I played with it, it seemed to do well. Also mounted very well on 3/4 inch pvc pipe stand. Will have to make a slot on back on cap to skull for wires, (a simple task)

    One good, one not.

Posted by Paul Aitken on 18th Sep 2013

I bought two of the fully assembled skulls and unfortuantely, the power connector on one of the boards just broke off so that unit is dead. The other unit works great. However, I am yet to run it for an extended period of time, yet. But because of the failure in the first unit, I can only give this product a so-so review...

    Ran it 4 hours straight!

Posted by Dale on 24th Oct 2012

The skull ran 4 hours straight without any problem. Very happy with that. My guests thought it was awesome. Fairly easy to set up, but very "touchy" when I was trying to adjust it. I could never really get the jaw movement perfect, but it was close enough. Overall a very good value and a fun toy for the haunter that wants the spookiness of a talking skull. I would recommend it.

We needed a prop for our Pirate theme this year and this brought us to a whole new level for the kiddos! Can't wait to surprise them all at Halloween!
